Photo: ©︎ Nacása and Partners Inc. FUTA Moriishi I designed the temporary Aoyama pop-up store for Nanaya, known as the world’s first specialty brand dedicated to matcha chocolate. A matcha-colored mascot placed at the storefront acts as a visual cue that draws pedestrians toward the entrance. Upon opening the door, visitors are immersed in a space enveloped in matcha-toned hues across all three hundred sixty degrees, accompanied by the aroma of matcha. This sensory composition creates an environment that feels as though one has stepped inside a piece of matcha chocolate. Color, materiality and lighting were calibrated to express the depth and richness of matcha, forming a highly immersive brand experience despite the limited duration of the store’s operation.
